Der Diplomstudiengang Mathematik wurde 1964 etabliert. Ab 1966 konnte Mathematik als Lehramtsstudiengang für Höhere Schulen und Realschulen studiert werden; 1985 trat der Diplom-Studiengang "Technomathematik" hinzu, 1996 außerdem "Wirtschaftsmathematik".
